Good personality most desirable trait in a romantic partner
You know the saying, "It’s what’s on the inside that counts"? Well, it turns out this may be even more true than we realise, AzVision.az reports citing the Independent.
A recent study conducted by YouGov across 20 countries has discovered that the majority of people prioritise personality over looks when considering a romantic partner.

Only 14 per cent of British men and five per cent of British women polled chose good looks as their most desirable quality in a partner, while 52 per cent of both British men and women opted for a good personality as their most favourable trait.

The men and women who took part in the story hail from every corner of the world.

It seems that even though we all speak with different tongues, the one language we do have in common on a global scale is the language of love.

With the exception of the men in Vietnam, a good personality came out on top with men and women in every country included in the study, from Sweden to Singapore.

This should come as no surprise according to Madeleine Mason, dating and relationship psychologist, director of PassionSmiths.

“Fundamentally people like those who make them feel good. Personality and humour contribute to this, looks don’t.” she explains.

“Personality and humour are more likely to make you feel good about yourself, so you would want to look for that in a partner.”

We may be living in a swipe left or swipe right culture, but if you want to fall in love, then it may be worth really getting to know what makes someone tick, rather than judging them solely on first impressions.
