Nominations put forth by Armenia were disapproved in UNESCO
Great majority of the offers proposed by Armenia at the UNESCO were disapproved and condemned, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic Abulfas Garayev told AzVision.az while commenting on the recognition of Azerbaijan's dolma and kamancha as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
"As regards the word’s etymology, Mahmud Kashghari in his famous book named “Divan-e Lughat” suggests the following meanings of the word Kocheri: Koch-qoch (meaning male ram); migrate from one place to another or from one house to another. We presented the list of dances belonging to Azerbaijani people and to the whole region for the next meeting. We expect successful results. So far mugam, tar and kamancha are included in the UNESCO list. We should thank our First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for her great contributions", he said.
