King Abdullah called for stepping up efforts to revive the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, in order to achieve just and comprehensive peace and fulfil the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which are their rights to liberty, and independent statehood on Palestinian national soil, with East Jerusalem as the capital.

The King said the issue of Jerusalem must be settled within the framework of the final status solution and a peace agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis based on the two-state solution, international laws and relevant UN resolutions.

There can be no security nor stability in the region without a solution to the Palestinian issue, the King asserted.

The Nizami Ganjavi International Centre delegation comprised the former presidents of Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Croatia, and Latvia, as well as the former prime ministers of the Czech Republic, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to other Arab and foreign political figures.

The centre, founded in Azerbaijan in 2012, seeks to promote knowledge, tolerance, and dialogue among different peoples and cultures.
