The diplomat noted that in 2016 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko paid an official visit to Azerbaijan.
"During the visit, important agreements were reached, which we are currently implementing. We hope that in the near future, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will pay a visit to Ukraine. This visit will give a big impetus to the development and strengthening of our relations,” he said.
The ambassador said that priority directions have already been determined and a package of documents on bilateral relations will be signed during the visit.
Envoy notes, work on the documents is currently underway.
