Train derails near Milan, at least two dead

A train derailed near Milan on Thursday killing at least two people and seriously injuring 10 others, TV channels RaiNews24 and SkyTG24 reported, citing emergency services.

A spokesman for state train firm Ferrovie dello Stato contacted by Reuters confirmed that an accident had occurred in Pioltello, some 40 kilometres from Milan, without giving details on potential casualties.
