Armenia severely damages Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage – chairman
Armenia occupied Azerbaijani territories, inflicted heavy damage to the cultural and spiritual heritage, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli said.

He made the remarks at a meeting with Portuguese MP, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union “Group 12+” Duarte Pacheco, the press service of the State Committee said in a message Jan. 30.

During the meeting, Gurbanli informed the guest about the tolerance and interfaith dialogue, the traditions of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.

He noted that the relations between the state and religion in the country have always been aimed at preserving and developing the traditions of mutual respect and tolerance formed by the Azerbaijani people.

Informing the guest about the activities of the State Committee, Gurbanli said that fight against religious radicalism in the administrative, economic and ideological directions in the country is already bringing results.

The existence of good prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Portugal in this field was also noted during the meeting.

Moreover, the chairman informed the guest about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
