Armenia harshly violates int’l humanitarian law, says Azerbaijani FM
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on Monday received a delegation led by Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.

Mammadyarov briefed his interlocutor on the negotiation process on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the fair position of Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia’s looting and destruction of material, cultural, and religious heritage of the Azerbaijani people in the occupied territories.

Touching upon Armenia’s resettlement of Armenian refugees from Syria in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the minister said that this settlement policy in the occupied territories and attempts to change the demographic composition purposefully is a gross violation of international humanitarian law.

The minister noted that over a million Azerbaijanis underwent ethnic cleansing as a result of Armenian occupation.

At the meeting, the sides expressed their concern over growing racism, xenophobia, ethnic and religious hatred, and attempts to foster religious conflicts in the world.
