Azerbaijan’s CEC to discuss approval of Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for presidential election

Azerbaijan’s CEC to discuss approval of Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for presidential election

Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) will today discuss the approval of the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev, nominated by the ruling new Azerbaijan Party for the upcoming presidential election, Huseyn Pashayev, the spokesman for the ruling party and a CEC member, told AzVision.az.

On February 8, the sixth congress of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party made a decision to nominate Ilham Aliyev for the presidential election.

According to the Electoral Code, the CEC, within 5 days after submission of documents, must make a justified decision on the approval of the nominated candidature.
