First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva meets with head of Iran`s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization 
First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has met with head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman.  

Azerbaijan's First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva hailed the successful development of the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran which hinge upon cultural and historical ties.

“We attract a great deal of attention to this historical and cultural heritage”, Mehriban Aliyeva said while expressing her pleasure over the relations between two countries based on mutual respect and friendship.

“Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents held 10 meetings over the past 10 years. These meetings have contributed to the development of cooperation between our countries in a variety of fields, such as economy, transport and culture”, Aliyeva stated.

Besides, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva expressed the importance of the organization of days of Azerbaijani culture in Iran, as well as the photo-exhibition titled “Azerbaijan- a pearl of the Islamic culture” which was held within the "2017- Year of Islamic Solidarity” in terms of the development of cultural cooperation.

Expressing her confidence on organizing Iranian culture days in Azerbaijan at the high-level, the First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva said that Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman’s visit to Azerbaijan on the occasion of Iranian movie days will be held successfully.

Torkaman noted that bilateral relations between the countries base on cultural-historical ties and both sides have wide range of opportunities to improve the relations.

During the meeting the sides also discussed the cooperation opportunities on Tabriz inauguration as Tourism Capital of Islamic countries and Nakhcivan as Capital of Islamic Culture.
