The main goal of the new format is to expand regional ties, according to the statement.
“The foreign ministers of the four countries will also consider issues of cooperation in transport, energy and other economic spheres,” reads the statement.
The foreign ministers will hold a joint press conference following the quadrilateral meeting.
Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze will hold separate meetings with his Azerbaijani, Turkish and Iranian counterparts.
As part of his visit to Azerbaijan, Mikheil Janelidze will also participate in the 6th Global Baku Forum, according to the statement.
