World leaders congratulate Ilham Aliyev on confident victory at presidential elections  -UPDATED

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"Dear Ilham Heydarovich, on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the confident victory in the presidential election in Azerbaijan. Your victory in the election proves that the Azerbaijani people are providing high support to your policy aimed at increasing the well-being of the people and strengthening of the country's authority on international arena," Nazarbayev said in his congratulatory message.

"On this high state post, I wish you new success on the path of Azerbaijan's further prosperity and effective implementation of all the forthcoming plans. I want to note your great contribution to the strengthening of relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, based on unbreakable friendship and trust," the Kazakh president said.

Nazarbayev further voiced confidence that the strategic cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop dynamically for the bright future of Azerbaijani and Kazakh peoples.

"Dear Ilham Heydarovich, taking this opportunity, I wish you good health, inexhaustible energy, success in all initiatives, and friendly Azerbaijani people - peace and prosperity," the president of Kazakhstan said in his message.

On April 12, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga made a phone call to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

Khaltmaagiin Battulga congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his victory in the presidential election, and wished him success in his presidential activities towards ensuring the well-being of the people and state of Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked Khaltmaagiin Battulga for his attention and congratulations.

The heads of state expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen.

Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban has made a phone call to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Orban congratulated President Aliyev on his victory in the presidential election and wished him success in the presidential activity for the prosperity of the Azerbaijani people, the press service of the Azerbaijani president said in a message.

President Aliyev expressed gratitude to the Hungarian prime minister for his attention and congratulations.

During the phone conversation, the sides underlined the successful development of bilateral relations between the two countries and stressed the good opportunities for further expansion of the relations.

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the landslide victory in the presidential election held in Azerbaijan on April 11.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov sent a congratulatory message to Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the landslide victory in the presidential election in Azerbaijan, said a message published on the Kyrgyz president’s website.

"Your landslide victory testifies to the trust of the Azerbaijanis in your policy aimed at the stable and all-round development of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” President Jeenbekov said. “I am sure that by joint efforts, the Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan relations will further strengthen on the basis of on mutual respect and trust."

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the landslide victory at the presidential election in Azerbaijan, said a message posted on the Tajik president’s website.

“Through their will, Azerbaijanis once again demonstrated high confidence in the policy carried out under your leadership aimed at sustainable prosperity of the country and strengthening its authority in the international arena,” the message said.

“Thanks to your hard work and efforts, Azerbaijan has made significant progress in its social and economic development, and we sincerely rejoice at these achievements of our friends,” President Rahmon said.

“We are convinced that in the coming years the cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan will be further developed in the interests of the two countries,” the message said. “Tajikistan’s side is ready to work with you to make all the necessary efforts.”

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Ilham Aliyev over his victory in the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan.

"I sincerely congratulate you on your re-election as president. This choice indicates that the Azerbaijani people support the successful policy being pursued by their government and that they are interested to see this development continue under your leadership,” Rouhani said in his congratulatory message.

“I am utterly convinced that Iranian-Azerbaijani friendship and brotherhood which is based upon similar cultural, religious and historical roots will be further developed. I ask God to grant you strong health and success, and prosperity for the people of Azerbaijan,” the Iranian president said.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated Ilham Aliyev on victory in the presidential election in Azerbaijan.

"I sincerely congratulate Ilham Aliyev on landslide victory in the presidential election in Azerbaijan,” President Poroshenko tweeted. “I am confident that the Ukraine-Azerbaijan strategic partnership will become even stronger."

The Ukrainian president stressed that he is looking forward to President Aliyev's visit to Ukraine.

President of Moldova Igor Dodon has congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the landslide victory in the presidential election in Azerbaijan, said a message published on the Moldovan president’s website.

"On behalf of people of the Republic of Moldova and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the occasion of the landslide victory in the presidential election and wish you great achievements,” the message said.

“Having re-elected you as president, the Azerbaijanis showed confidence and broad support for the path of the country’s development, stability and harmony in society, prosperity and welfare of people chosen by you,” the message said.

“I am sure that the constructive dialogue and close cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to the strengthening of relations between our countries,” the message said. “I wish you robust health and new achievements."

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Ilham Aliyev over his re-election as the Azerbaijani president.

“The results of the election show the high solidarity of the voters on the course aimed at building strong and prosperous Azerbaijan. I am confident that your role as a head of state will further strengthen economic power and international reputation of the country and will contribute to the comprehensive development of Belarus-Azerbaijan friendship,” Lukashenko said in his congratulatory letter.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has phoned his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, the press service of the Azerbaijani president said in a statement April 12.

Erdogan congratulated Ilham Aliyev on confident victory at the presidential election and wished success in his presidential activity for the benefit of the Azerbaijani people.

Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the shown attention and congratulations.

President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed confidence that relations of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries will continue to develop in all areas.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in connection with his confident victory at the presidential elections held April 11.

“I convey my most heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as the president at the election held April 11 in Azerbaijan,” Yildirim said in his letter. “It is gratifying that this election, which reflects the will of the friendly and fraternal Azerbaijani people, was held in conditions of transparency and trust. Your leadership, for sure, has a great role in the development of fraternal Azerbaijan as a country where there is stability, peace and prosperity.”

“I firmly believe in the continuation of your role as a leader in deepening of development both on bilateral and multilateral platforms, as well as in achievement of an even higher level of relations in the interests of our fraternal peoples,” Yildirim noted.
