UN to continue supporting Azerbaijan’s commitment to achieve SDGs: Isaczai

The UN will continue to support Azerbaijan’s commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP and UNFPA Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Ghulam M. Isaczai said in his video message on the UN Day.

“Today is the United Nations Day which marks the foundation of the organization 73 years ago.

Today is also an opportunity to celebrate 26 years of UN partnership with the government and people of Azerbaijan and to recognize its work for the development and prosperity of the country,” he said.

Isaczai noted that Azerbaijan has been a valuable and active member of the United Nations since its independence and “we count on its continuing support for a better and stronger UN.”

“The UN will continue to support Azerbaijan’s commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The SDG Forum that will take place tomorrow is a solid proof of our partnership and joint work in advancing the sustainable development agenda in the country,” he added.
