Azerbaijan works to get body of its soldier killed by Armenians
Currently, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry continues joint work with relevant structures to receive the body of Azerbaijani soldier who died as a result of the Armenian provocation on Dec. 29, the ministry told AzVision.az Dec. 30.

The Armenian side again demonstrates inhumanity with regard to the Azerbaijani people, according to the ministry`s message.

"Despite the fact that initially, the Armenian side denied that it has the body of Azerbaijani soldier, however, shortly after the relevant measures conducted by the Defense Ministry and the availability of conclusive evidences forced Armenia to disseminate photos of the soldier`s body on social media," the ministry said, commenting on the soldier`s photos disseminated in the social media by Armenians.

In order to receive the body of the Azerbaijani soldier, Gurbanov Chingiz, who was killed during the prevention of Armenian sabotage, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry officially appealed to the Azerbaijani representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), OSCE Minsk Group, as well as Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, said the ministry.

A reconnaissance group of the Armenian Armed Forces tried to violate the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border on Dec. 29 morning. The Armenian group found itself in the ambush of the Azerbaijani army while violating the borders.

The enemy was forced to retreat, according to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry`s message.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. The 1994 ceasefire agreement was followed by peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.

“Unfortunately, the Armenians once again tried to abuse this unlucky incident for their own ugly ambitions in a bid to mislead representatives of international organizations, showing their inhumane face to the people of Azerbaijan,” the ministry added.
