Hong Kong observatory issues Highest typhoon alert level
Hong Kong Observatory issued a Typhoon alert signal 10, which is the highest in Hong Kong’s storm warning system.
Hong Kong Observatory, a weather forecast agency of the local government, issued on Wednesday Typhoon alert signal 10, which is the highest in Hong Kong’s storm warning system, as typhoon Hato approached to the city, local media reported.

Earlier in the day, the weather observatory issued the signal 9.

According to South China Morning Post, it is the first highest alert signal issued since July 2012, when Hong Kong was hit by typhoon Vicente.

According to reports, hundreds of flights and other transport services were canceled and schools were closed.

Earlier in the day, the observatory warned that typhoon Hato may pose considerable threat to Hong Kong.
