US to supply 2 NASAMS systems to Ukraine in 2024

The US has signed a contract for $182 million, which involves the transfer of two NASAMS systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024, Pentagon press secretary General Patrick Ryder said, AzVision.az reports.

“Turning to Ukraine, as you might have seen on Friday, a contract was awarded to Raytheon for the National Advanced Surface-To-Air Missile System, or NASAMS. This $182 million contract is in support of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, specifically, Tranche Three, which tasked the Army with the procurement and delivery of two NASAMS,” Ryder noted.

Mobile anti-aircraft missile system NASAMS (Norwegian Advanced Surface-to-air Missile System) of medium range is designed to engage air targets at low and medium altitudes in all weather conditions.
