Azerbaijan: Armenian landmine use harms civilians, reconstruction efforts

Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, has condemned Armenia's use of landmines.

In his post on X social media platform, Hajiyev highlighted the ongoing threat posed by landmines in the territories liberated by Azerbaijan after nearly three decades of Armenian occupation.

"Mines, explosive remnants of war, and improvised explosive devices continue to cause death and injury to our civilians," Mr. Hajiyev stated. "These hazards also impede reconstruction efforts and the return of internally displaced persons." He emphasized the tragic impact on civilians, including children, who have been caught in mine blasts.
