Mevlud Çavuşoğlu, head of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, paid his respects at several memorial sites in Azerbaijan during his visit.
Çavuşoğlu laid a wreath at the tomb of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader and architect of modern Azerbaijan. He also honored the memory of outstanding ophthalmologist academician Zarifa Aliyeva by laying flowers on her grave.
Çavuşoğlu visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate those who died for Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He laid flowers on their graves and paid his respects at the "Eternal Torch" monument.
He also visited the Turkish Martyrdom, a separate memorial likely dedicated to Turkish soldiers who died in Azerbaijan. There, he wrote a message in the memorial notebook.
