Armenia is ready to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan based on the previously agreed principles, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said after talks with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Armenia, AzVision.az reports citing Trend.
"I updated my colleague on the recent negotiations with Azerbaijan and reiterated Armenia's commitment to fostering stability and peace in the region. We stand by three principles already agreed upon: mutual recognition of territorial integrity following the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, the implementation of mutual delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as unblocking regional infrastructures based on the principles of respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of states, reciprocity and equality," Pashinyan said.
Earlier in February, Pashinyan also stated Armenia's readiness to sign a peace treaty in an interview with The Telegraph.
"Indeed, the architecture and principles of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been settled. By the end of last year, it appeared that we were on the verge of finalizing the text of the treaty," Pashinyan stressed in an interview with The Telegraph.
