Migrants rob 2 German journalists in Calais Refugee Camp
A volunteer organization said that two journalists from Germany have been robbed in Calais refugee camp.
Two journalists from Germany have been robbed in Calais refugee camp, a representative of a volunteer organization told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

"Two journalists from Germany, working in the camp, have been robbed today in the afternoon by the inhabitants of the camp," a representative of Auberge des migrants said.

The source added that the thieves stole mobile phones and recommended to keep an eye on the personal belongings while visiting the camp.

The incident in the so-called jungle camp occurred not for the first time. In January, a group of migrants attacked Dutch and Russian journalist, threatening with a knife. In October, according to the media, an interpreter accompanying journalists was raped. Thousands of migrants from the Middle East and North Africa are living in the Calais camp, located not far from the Channel Tunnel, in hopes of reaching the United Kingdom. The remaining part of the camp is to be closed before the end of October, after the main section was dismantled in March.
