ICRC conducts 182 ops in Karabakh to search for and retrieve bodies

In January-June 2021, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), as a neutral intermediary, conducted 182 operations to search for and retrieve bodies in areas [Azerbaijan’s Karabakh] affected by the recent hostilities, said Ilaha Huseynova, head of the public relations department of the ICRC Baku Office, AzVision.az reports.

She noted that 283 samples of biological references were collected from 118 families of those who went missing in the 1990s.

“The families of 67 missing people were rendered cash assistance. Thirty ICRC representatives continue to provide remote support to the families of the missing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and escalation,” Huseynova added.
