Kremlin urges Baku and Yerevan to exercise restraint

The Kremlin calls for restraint in connection with another military incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"Undoubtedly, this is disturbing news coming from the line of contact. We call both sides for restraint, for avoiding any actions that the other side may consider provocative," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, AzVision.az reports citing Interfax.

"We will observe very closely, and continue our contacts with both sides," he added.

Responding to questions from journalists whether the next incident jeopardizes the prospects of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Kremlin spokesman said: "Such incidents, at the very least, do not contribute to advancing this negotiation process and bringing the moment of signing a peace treaty closer. But we hope that this process will continue".
