Azerbaijani President and First Lady visit Independence Monument in Tashkent

On August 22, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva visited the Independence Monument in Tashkent, AzVision.az reports. 

A guard of honor was lined up for the President of Azerbaijan here.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the monument.

The monument, erected in honor of the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, reflects the three-thousand-year history of the Uzbek people.

The 60-meter-high monument is located at the center of the "Yangi Uzbekiston" ("New Uzbekistan") complex, which is dedicated to the anniversary of the country's independence and is situated near the capital. It reflects the era marked by the lives and activities of prominent figures.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva posed for photographs.
