Kazakhstan, China create joint AI laboratory

Kazakhstan and China will launch a joint project to create an artificial intelligence laboratory, AzVision.az reports, citing Tengrinews .

The National Academy of Sciences under the President of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum with Zhejiang Technology University, which will establish the International Joint Laboratory of Spatial-Temporal Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development.

The laboratory will become a center for advanced research, combining AI technologies, remote sensing, geographic information systems, and predictive modeling. Its tasks will include monitoring and managing water resources, developing early warning systems for natural disasters, and optimizing energy distribution.

Kazakhstan also plans to adopt an artificial intelligence law that will prohibit the creation of fully autonomous AI systems.
