Yerevan Municipality bans holding any public event in Erebuni district and adjacent streets
The Municipality of Yerevan has issued a statement, saying that complex measures aimed at ensuring the citizens’ security and maintaining public order are carried out by law enforcement authorities in Yerevan’s Erebuni administrative district and adjacent streets, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian Media.
The statement specifically reads: “On occasion of the storming of Erebuni police regiment by the armed group from July 17 up to now, the law enforcement authorities are carrying out complex measures aimed at ensuring the citizens’ security and maintaining public order in Yerevan’s Erebuni administrative district and adjacent streets.

Considering the circumstance that in compliance with the Law of the Republic of Armenia on “Freedom of assemblies”, no notification has been submitted on holding an assembly in those sites, and no decision has been taken on holding the assembly as well as taking into account that there is an immediate real danger to the lives and health of the people, Yerevan Municipality informs that holding of any public events in the mentioned areas is prohibited.”
