Forests burning in north of Turkey
A forest fire broke out on the territory of Canakkale province in northern Turkey, Anadolu Agency reported Aug. 8.
The fire covered an area of ​​20 hectares.

Currently, the work is underway to extinguish the fire in the province, and the cause of fire has not yet been established.

This is the second case of forest fire in Turkey in recent days, according to Turkish media outlets.

A forest fire was recorded in the Kocaeli province in northern Turkey Aug. 4.

Forests cover 27.6 percent of Turkey’s territory.

Almost all forests in Turkey are in state ownership.
