Erdogan says Syria’s Afrin to be liberated soon
The center of Syria’s Afrin, which is a stronghold for terrorists, will be encircled by the Turkish army in the coming days, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, the country’s media reported Feb. 20.

He noted that once Afrin is encircled, the terrorists will be completely isolated from the support from other regions of Syria.

“Turkey will completely eliminate terrorists in Syria,” Erdogan added.

On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.

F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force are involved in the operation, inflicting strikes on the positions of PYD/YPG on the Syrian-Turkish border.
