At least 12 people have been killed by heavy rains in Saudi Arabia this week, Anadolu Agency reports citing the kingdom’s civil defense authority on Wednesday.

In a statement, the authority said a total of 271 people have been rescued across the kingdom since Sunday.

According to the statement, civil defense teams have evacuated 137 people in the northwestern Tabuk region.

Saudi Arabia and several Gulf states have been hit by heavy rainfalls and bad weather this week that left dozens of people dead.
