Iranian national plotted to blow up Sangachal bridge

As previously reported, the State Security Service (DTX) has successfully thwarted a series of terror-sabotage plots and espionage activities orchestrated by SEPAH (the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), the special service organ of the Islamic Republic of Iran,  AzVision.az reports.

Authorities have now identified the network of individuals contacted by SEPAH to organize the collection of intelligence and the planning of assassinations and terrorist acts within the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Among the uncovered plots, Iranian citizen Sheikhzadeh Sajjad Moghadam Sati Sofi Evad was actively seeking an accomplice to plant an explosive device under a bridge in the Sangachal settlement of Baku’s Garadagh district. Sheikhzadeh reportedly offered $50,000 USD to anyone willing to carry out the attack.

Furthermore, the investigation revealed that Sheikhzadeh received specific high-level instructions from SEPAH to coordinate assassination plots targeting individuals of Jewish descent residing in Azerbaijan.
