6.2-magnitude quake hits SW Ecuador

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted near Santa Elena, a town in southwestern Ecuador at 0704 GMT on Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, Xinhua reported. 

The epicenter, with a depth of 18.52 km, was initially determined to be at 1.9858 degrees south latitude and 80.8081 degrees west longitude.
