Russian lawmakers approve second reading of

Russia's lower house of parliament on Thursday approved the second reading of draft legislation that aims to increase Moscow's sovereignty over its Internet segment and defend against foreign meddling.

Critics of the bill warn it could disrupt Russia’s Internet and be used to stifle dissent.
