  Azerbaijan Defense Minister meets with delegation of Royal College of Defense Studies of Great Britain

On May 7, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov has met with the delegation, headed by David Ellery, Professor of the Royal College of Defense Studies of the United Kingdom that is on a visit to our country.

After welcoming the delegation consisting of senior officers, diplomats and civil servants of Great Britain, Malaysia, Kenya, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, the United States, Colombia, South Korea, China and other countries, studying at the college, the Minister of Defense informed them about the military-political situation in the region, the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, reforms carried out in the field of military capability development, as well as the contribution of our country to ensuring international peace and security.

Colonel General Z. Hasanov brought to the attention of the meeting participants the importance of the programs of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, especially the activities carried out in the field of military education.

The Minister of Defense recalled that according to the plan of military cooperation between the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, officers of the Azerbaijan Army have been actively participating in courses organized by the Royal College of Defense Studies of Great Britain since 2012. Colonel General Z. Hasanov thanked the British side for the support provided in this area.

Professor D. Ellery, in his turn, informed the Minister about the activities of the college, stressed the importance of the courses organized and the significance of such visits in terms of mutual exchange of experience and also on behalf of the delegation members expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Defense for the warm welcome.
