Volvo to recall over 6,000 cars in China

Volvo Automobile Sales (Shanghai) Co Ltd is to recall 6,223 cars over safety concerns, according to China's quality watchdog.

The recall will involve imported XC90 cars manufactured between Aug 27, 2014 and April 24, 2016, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation.

Due to defects in the engine cooling system, coolant may leak, bringing the risk of an engine fire, according to the statement.

The company will replace the faulty components free of charge.

The recall will start from June 19.
