Turkish jets target PKK shelters in northern Iraq

Turkish fighter jets hit weapon emplacements and shelters used by PKK terror group in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry said on Thursday, AzVision.az reports citing Anadolu Agency. 

In a statement, the ministry said airstrikes were carried out in Metina and Qandil region of northern Iraq.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
