Participants in the event included heads and representatives of Azerbaijan’s AZERTAC, UK’s Press Association, Russia’s TASS, Saudi Arabia’s SPA, US’ Associated Press, Kuwait’s KUNA, Spain’s EFE, and other member agencies.
The meeting featured discussions on the election of a new president of the News Agencies World Congress, as well as the country where the 7th Congress will be held. As there were several candidates to the presidency, the Council members could not reach a final decision, and agreed to meet again this December in London to discuss the issues.
The meeting participants also discussed a number of issues, including the ones on the agenda of the 6th Congress.
