Pianist Elchin Shirinov, German jazz musicians to perform together in Baku

Pianist Elchin Shirinov and German jazz musicians Erik Leuthäuser, Bernhard Meyer, Peter Meyer will perform together at the Chamber & Organ Music Hall (Kirche) in Baku on June 21, the Fête de la Musique and Goethe-Zentrum Baku told AzVision.az.

Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Elchin Shirinov is the main force behind this unusual jazz quartet. After meeting award winning German vocalist Erik Leuthäuser at a Vocal Jazz Festival in Poland the urge to play together was born despite living in two far away countries. But music overcomes boundaries and so in 2019 a new quartet is born featuring both the vocalist and pianist as well as two well known German jazz musicians on bass and guitar by the name of Bernhard and Peter Meyer. Two brothers who are making waves in the German Jazz scene with several projects such as the "Melt Trio". Every member of the new quartet brings in their own musical background and stories and compositions.
