Maiden Tower awarded in Europe
Maiden Tower passed the qualifying round in the "European Museum of the Year 2015" competition, held in Glasgow (Scotland), with the participation of prestigious museums more than in 21 European countries, and received the award in the nomination "For significant achievements in the area of `increasing social significance of a museum`.

With reference to the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher" under the Cabinet of Ministers that the Maiden Tower was awarded in this category for its significant contribution to the improvement of museum work.

The contest "European Museum of the Year 2015", conducted by the European Museum Forum, is one of the most prestigious competitions in the world in the field of museum work.

The aim of the contest is to draw public attention to raising the quality and innovation in museums.

Under the terms, the museums opened in the last two years, or which have been reconstructed over this period, are free to participate in the competition.
