Assassin of Robert F. Kennedy stabbed in his cell

The murderer of the American politician Robert Kennedy was stabbed in his cell on Friday, AzVision.az reports citing Tellerreport.

Authorities report Saturday that a man with stab wounds has been admitted to hospital, but refuse to disclose the identity of the victim. However, initiates confirm the identity.

The condition of 75-year-old Sirhan Sirhan is stable. The stabbing took place in a prison near San Diego, in the state of California.

The alleged perpetrator, a fellow prisoner, has been identified and separated from the rest of the prisoners pending investigation.

Sirhan shot Kennedy on June 5, 1968, who wanted to become the Democratic candidate in the US presidential election. The Palestinian refugee said he killed him because he was angry about his support for Israel.

Kennedy succumbed to his injuries a day later. He was buried alongside his older brother, the shot-dead President John F. Kennedy.

According to an eyewitness, Sirhan did not act alone and had a henchman. However, this was never arrested. Sirhan was initially sentenced to death for the murder, but that sentence was later converted to life imprisonment.
