Firefighters and civilians injured after blasts at Oktoberfest celebration in California

The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. local time (9 a.m. GMT), firefighters told journalists. According to KTLA TV, several guests noted issues with the electricity at the complex, minutes before the first blast, AzVision.az reports citing Sputnik.

A utility pole explosion hit the Oktoberfest celebration at the Old World Village complex in Huntington Beach, California, authorities said, adding that several people were injured. Hundreds of unharmed visitors were evacuated from the site to ensure their security.

In the meantime, NBC reported, citing witnesses at the scene, that there were three separate blasts.

Eyewitnesses said that the flames from the explosion were as high as 40 feet (12 metres) above the roof of the venue.
