One dead, two injured in Belgium building collapse

The collapse of a building on Tuesday in southern Belgian city of Mons has left one person dead and two injured, AzVision.az reports citing Xinhua.

The first floor of the building in the city center collapsed at around 1 p.m., killing a local tenant and injuring two construction workers.

Excessive building material loads could be the cause of the collapse, but the exact details are still to be investigated, according to local media.

Provincial labor auditor Charles-Eric Clesse said a magistrate has come to inspect the scene and that an expert has been mandated to determine the precise causes and responsibilities of the incident, reported local newspaper Le Soir.

All occupants of the buildings have been evacuated as a security measure.
