Israel's coronavirus death toll up to 227, with 16,152 confirmed cases

Israel's death toll in the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic rose to 227, Health Ministry announced early on Saturday, reports citing Times of Israel.

The total number of confirmed cases rose to 16,152, with 51 new infections registered since the previous update late on Friday, it reported, with 107 patients in a serious condition and 67 more in a moderate state.

Some 9,400 Israelis have now recovered -- almost two-thirds of the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the country.
