"Keeping the coronavirus restrictions in place is the right decision" - Ilham Aliyev

As you know, the coronavirus continues to spread around the world. As in some countries, we have seen an increase in the spread of COVID-19 from one person to another after easing coronavirus restrictions. Therefore, many countries are re-imposing some coronavirus restrictions. I think this is the right decision because there is no vaccine to completely cure this disease. In this case, the number of infected people may increase.

The statement came from the President of Azerbaijan in an interview with Azerbaijan Television, Public Television and Khazar Television on July 6, AzVision.az reported.

"We managed to control the situation by taking all preventive measures, and today the situation is under control. Although the rate of infection is high, the situation is under control. We have taken necessary steps since the beginning of the pandemic. We had only 6 laboratories in February. Currently, the number of those labs reach 29. 15 new labs have been ordered and the total number will be 44. This will allow us to conduct more tests. More the 500.000 tests have been conducted in Azerbaijan so far and Azerbaijan is on 40th place in the world in terms of the number of tests per capita."

"Restrictive measures were taken in accordance with the prevailing conditions. When we lift some restrictions in early May, I have mentioned that if we observe an increase in infection rate, we would have to reimpose tight restrictions. Keeping these restrictions in place is the right decision. Many countries are re-imposing some coronavirus restrictions, too", the head of state said.
