The head of state made the remarks during a meeting of the Security Council on Monday, AzVision.az reports.
“The enemy was given an adequate rebuff. We have avenged the death of our military servicemen,” said the president.
He emphasized that all the attempts of the Armenian side failed, Azerbaijan protected its state border and Armenian soldiers could not cross even an inch into Azerbaijani territory.
The head of state said that the situation at the border still remains tense.
“Last night I was in contact with all relevant agencies and commanders. The situation at the border has not stabilized. The military and political leadership of Armenia bears full responsibility for the escalation of the tension,” President Aliyev added.
