Azerbaijanis in Russia appeal to UN, OSCE in protest against Armenian aggression

Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in Russia have appealed to the United Nations and the OSCE Minsk Group in protest against Armenia’s recent military provocations on the border with Azerbaijan.

Chairman of the Azerbaijani-Ural national-cultural public organization in Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast Shahin Shikhlinsky, Chairman of the Yekaterinburg branch of the Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Union Togrul Hasanzade, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Murmansk Afil Huseynov and the Advisory Council of the Interregional Association of Azerbaijanis of Russia sent official letters to the UN headquarters and the OSCE Minsk Group, the State Committee of Azerbaijan on Work with Diaspora told AzVision.az

The letters emphasize that the recent military provocations of Armenia are another attempt to destabilize the situation in the region.

The diaspora representatives recalled that the European Union constantly urges the parties to abide by the ceasefire, to direct their resources to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to resolve the conflict by peaceful means.

In conclusion, they urged the world community and international organizations to strongly condemn the ongoing aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions of Azerbaijan by Armenia, as well as to demand immediate implementation of UN resolutions calling for the liberation of Azerbaijani territories and return of IDPs to their native lands.
