US ambassador summoned to Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday summoned the U.S. ambassador over the barbaric acts committed by the Armenian Dashnaks against peaceful Azerbaijanis in Los Angeles.

On July 21, radical Armenian Dashnaks living in Los Angeles held a protest rally outside the Azerbaijani Consulate General in the city, chanting aggressive and provocative slogans, the ministry said.

In response to the rally of the Armenian radical forces, members of the Azerbaijani community in California approached the vastly outnumbered Armenian provocateurs and voiced slogans exposing Armenia’s aggression and policy of ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijan.

The ministry noted that the radical Armenian Dashnaks showed violence and aggression against peaceful Azerbaijani demonstrators, while even the Los Angeles police responsible for ensuring security failed to prevent their vandalism. The Armenian radicals attacked the Azerbaijani demonstrators, leaving seven people, including one woman, injured.

“We would like to note with regret that at present in various parts of the world, including the United States and Europe, there are attempts of violence and vandalism by radical Armenians against peaceful Azerbaijani demonstrators. Such provocative actions, which contradict fundamental values, including the right to free expression, are a clear example of the fact that the aggressive policy of Armenia and its leadership is carried out by radical Armenian forces.”

For the violence and atrocities demonstrated by the Armenian radical elements against peaceful Azerbaijani demonstrators in Los Angeles, as well as in European countries, including on July 22 in Brussels, Armenian criminals should be brought to justice, and at the same time, the law enforcement agencies of the respective countries should be responsible for ensuring the security of the Azerbaijani communities, the ministry added.
