"There has been recorded positive dynamics in the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Azerabijan since July 16. Of course, this is the result of all the necessary measures taken in our country which allowed us to control the situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus. There is a sharp decrease in the number of active coronavirus cases which will enable us to keep the situation under control and minimize the spread of coronavirus infection", President Ilham Aliyev stated.
"Today, 46 hospitals are treating the coronavirus patients. I must also add that 41 of these 46 hospitals have been built or overhauled over the past 17 years and provided with modern equipment. If we did not take these steps on time, we could have encounter more serious problems and tragic situation", President Aliyev noted.
“We have increased five times the number of our laboratories in a short period of time. The new laboratories to be bought in the near future will allow us to get a large number of tests. We must increase the total number of laboratories to 45 ", Ilham Aliyev highlighted.
“Nine modular hospitals have been commissioned until today. Four of them started operating on 29 July. These hospitals were opened in Gobustan, Ismayilli, Gabala and Shaki. In the near future, the total number of modular hospitals will reach 16 which means a total of 3,200 coronavirus patients will be treated in these hospitals”, Aliyev added.
