  TABIB: Infections rise in Azerbaijan following easing of coronavirus restrictions

COVID-19 cases are gradually increasing in Azerbaijan following the easing of restrictions, said Yagut Garayeva, Head of the Disease Control and Prevention Department of the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) of Azerbaijan.

She made the remarks Friday during a briefing of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, AzVision.az reports.

Garayeva noted that more than 50 percent of COVID-19 cases accounted for Baku and the Absheron peninsula.   

According to her, people aged 50-59 are more likely to become infected.

She noted that some 651 people have been infected with the coronavirus infection over the past week.
