"There are currently 46 hospitals for coronavirus patients. 41 of these hospitals have been built over the last 17 years. As a result of the implementation of state programs for socio-economic development of the districts, modern hospitals were constructed in all regions and cities. It is not difficult to imagine which problems we could encounter today if we did not take those steps on time. With full responsibility I can say that if those hospitals were not built on time, we would be in critical situation today. Hospitals are equipped with the latest facilities, and the process continues today. The material and technical base of our healthcare system has a special role in fighting against COVID-19," President Aliyev noted.
“We have greatly increased the number of laboratories – by several times. When the pandemic started, we had only six laboratories and we have increased the number of such laboratories to 45. More than 900,000 tests have been implemented in our country. According to the number of tests per capita, Azerbaijan is in one of the leading places in the world.”
