  Global death toll from coronavirus infection tops 857,015

The global death toll from the coronavirus infection has topped 857,015; over 25.6 million cases of infection have been detected, and over 17 million of those patients have recovered, according to Baltimore, Maryland's Johns Hopkins University, which tracks and compiles data from national and local authorities, the media and other sources.

The United States still has the highest coronavirus case count in the world; 6,073,840 have been infected, of whom 184,659 have died and 2,202,663 have recovered.

Almost three in four adults worldwide have expressed their willingness to take a vaccine against COVID-19 if one becomes available, a fresh poll produced by Ipsos for the World Economic Forum (WEF) found.
