The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II expressed his concern over the confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports citing the press service of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
"The escalation of the conflict is particularly painful for us, as we are neighbours and friends, and many Azerbaijanis and Armenians live in Georgia", Ilia II said.
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II expressed his confidence that the Armenian and Azerbaijani authorities, as well as the international community, will not allow the further escalation of tension in the conflict zone, otherwise, it could become a serious challenge for the region and the world.
"We pray for the restoration of the peace in Azerbaijan and Armenia and the whole Caucasus", he added
