Azerbaijani presidential aide informs foreign media about Armenian military provocations

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Affairs Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev held a virtual briefing with representatives of the world’s leading media outlets (Reuters, Voice of America, Financial Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Welt, EFE, ABC Spain, Bloomberg, CNN, France Presse, RAI, Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya, Der Standard, Asahi) accredited in Russia.

Hajiyev provided detailed information to the foreign media representatives about the recent military provocations of Armenia.

He expressed regret over the causalities among the civilian population, accusing Armenia of purposefully shelling Azerbaijan’s civilian infrastructure. Hajiyev noted that unlike Armenia, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces comply with international humanitarian law.

Hajiyev added that there is accurate information about the use of civilians by Armenians as a shield during military operations.

The official then answered the journalists’ questions and invited them to visit Azerbaijan.
